World Regions Lab learner guide
Choose geography, a practice quiz or a story. Use evidence to explain what you notice and ask a new question.
Learn geography
Learn world geography opens Level 1; Choose a learning level shows all nine. Level 1 starts with map basics; Level 2 introduces countries. Learn this level opens notes and an example. Move between ideas and optionally use Keep my learning to save your explanation and sources in My work.
Practice with evidence
Take a practice quiz opens the level choices. Each attempt uses eight questions from a bank of 24. Read the evidence first. Give me a clue and Show me first offer support; answers with help are recorded separately. Pause & save keeps an unfinished attempt. Completion is not proof of mastery.
Explore countries or play
Open Countries, search and select a place, then Read the country facts. Twenty World Bank measures cover 217 reporting areas; some map areas have no profile. Check each value’s year, unit and source. Source and chart opens a provider graph. Hosted Refresh facts checks for updates. More to explore links to Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons; check a photo’s place, date, creator and licence before reusing it. Learn for fun opens optional short map games.
Follow a story
Follow a story starts Permission to work, a fictional job-offer case. Stories or Browse stories shows all twelve episodes. Read, choose a first thought, try the puzzle and check the evidence. Save a story record with your explanation, one limit and a next question. The app does not grade the argument.
Compare places
Open Compare. Choose two to five places, a measure and years. Its twelve measures cover 38 countries and areas across 2000–2024, separately from the latest country facts. Gaps mean missing values. Save to My work keeps your notes; Download CSV keeps the data.
Keep and share work
In My work, choose This session or All my activities, then Print / save PDF or Download report. Reports are HTML for reading or printing. Submit through your teacher’s usual system. Find a unit to assign is an activity catalog, not a submission system.
Back up progress
Check the save status. Hosted ChatGPT sign-in is optional and supports saving across devices; guest and account workspaces are separate. Back up guest work before signing in. Downloaded HTML saves only on its browser and device. Back up all my work creates restoration JSON; Import backup replaces the workspace after confirmation. Export before closing a temporary draft or paused cloud session.
